Call to Action
By Karen Pfau-Martinez, CPA
Summer has arrived in San Francisco. After one of the coolest August I can remember, the last few days have seen sunshine and record heat. I sometimes wish we could just have 75 degrees and sunshine every day. And if it must rain, it would only be at night. OK, so I would like Camelot.
As for our profession, the AICPA recently submitted a call to action asking members to contact the IRS requesting they exempt CPA firms from the requirement to register their employees who are non-signing tax return preparers, and urge the IRS to delay the implementation of its preparer examination.
The IRS is trying to implement some regulations that are mostly dealt with by state boards of accountancy
To those chapter members attending committee and discussion group events: Thank you, and I hope that the events are meeting your needs. Please let me know if there is a topic you feel strongly about and would like to acquire further information. We may be able to find and develop an event to satisfy your need Here’s a reminder of a few upcoming events that I hope are on your calendars:
- Sept. 21: Annual Golf outing at Harding Parking
- Nov. 2: SF Chapter ABC Mixer
- Jan. 19: CalCPA Day at the Capitol
Until next month.
