Avenues of Participation
By Karen Pfau-Martinez, CPA
In keeping with my theme from last month, here are a few ways that our chapter is trying to entice you to participate in the next few weeks.
Our chapter Installation Luncheon June 17 is an excellent way to get acquainted with other chapter members. This event is being held at One Market Plaza with an excellent menu. Our keynote speaker is Lisa Pantages, vice president of finance for the San Francisco Giants. She is going to tell us that the Giants are going all the way this year! Or maybe not. We also honor long-term members at this event. It is truly one of my favorite events of the year. Why would you not want to come?
We are having our annual Golf Tournament at Harding Park Sept. 21, which is a wonderful way to socialize and have fun at a beautiful course. So get involved and sign up to play now. To make an early reservation, contact program associate Jane Dunbar.
Also, our planning conference took place May 18 and we’ll be filling you in soon on all the exciting events our committee chairs have planned for this year.
So this month’s call to action is for you to let me know what kind of event you would like to see happen this year. Without your input, we can only guess at what drives our members. We are diverse: members in industry, young emerging professionals, those who have been members for years and in public accounting. Only you can give us direction.
I look forward to hearing from you.
