Our legislative successes last year were won with a lot of effort by CalCPA and its members. We need to continue to build and develop relationships with our state senators and assembly members. To continue to effectively represent the profession going forward, we need to strengthen these relationships and build new ones. Term limits make this process that much more important.
Do you personally know your senator or assembly member or one of their staff? Would you like to get involved in future grassroots government relations effort and help CalCPA and the profession? We are not asking for a major time commitment, send a couple of e-mails during the year and make an occasional visit to a district office with fellow CalCPA members. Please contact Patrick Rogan or our chapter program associate Dana Agosti.

This year’s Annual Student Luncheon will be a great forum for CalCPA members to reach out to students and share their professional experiences and provide them with information about accounting careers.
Highlights of the program include experienced and enthusiastic speakers, a networking forum and the opportunity for CalCPA members to positively affect the life and career path of students. We will have a diverse panel of CPAs to answer questions and provide insight into the accounting world. Prior to the start of the program, students will have the opportunity to submit to the panel written questions regarding the accounting profession.
Students will also have an opportunity to network with local firms before the event to find out more about the firms, their specialties and what they have to offer new associates.
CalCPA membership and scholarship applications will be available.
Keep your eye out for registration details. Contact Program Associate Dana Agosti with any questions.
Date: Thursday, Nov. 17
Location: Sac State Alumni Center
