2011 Financial Literacy Educators Conference

Invite your children’s teachers and local K-12 educators to attend the 2011 Financial Literacy Conference for Educators, hosted by CalCPA, the CalCPA Institute and California Jump$tart Coalition.

This conference will provide free resources such as workbooks and toolkits; details of successful personal finance education programs and how to integrate them; and techniques and strategies to reach diverse student audiences.

Jordan Heads 2011–12 Slate

CalCPA’s Nominations Committee has selected the following candidates for 2011–12 statewide leadership positions: Eduardo L. Jordan (Orange County/Long Beach), chair; Johanna Sweaney Salt (Inland Empire), first vice chair; Richard Simitian (Los Angeles), treasurer; Elaine D. Reule (Fresno), vice chair; and Jennifer E. Ziegler (Los Angeles), vice chair.

Conrad Davis (Sacramento) will serve as immediate past chair.

Council members at-large nominees are: Jolene Fraser (Sacramento); Louis D. Miramontes (East Bay); and Patrick D. Rogan (Sacramento). Their term will be 2011–13.

A group of 100 or more CPA members may submit additional nominations of a candidate for officer or at-large member to CalCPA Council. Such nominations must be filed by close of business May 1 at CalCPA headquarters: 1800 Gateway Drive, Suite 200; San Mateo, CA 94404.

CalCPA nominees for AICPA Council are Andrea G. Cope (San Francisco); Jeremy L. Dillard (Los Angeles); John M. Lacey (Orange County/Long Beach); Johanna Sweaney Salt; and Maryellen K. Sebold (Los Angeles). Their term will be 2011–14.

At-large members to the Nominations Committee (2011–13) include: Jeff Chen (Los Angeles); Karen Pfau-Martinez (San Francisco); and Jacques Welche (Orange County/Long Beach).
