Great Events Coming Your Way in November
By Evan R. Strano, CPA
With November comes the beginning of the “holiday season.” In a few weeks it will be Thanksgiving. But before we turn the page from October, I would like to offer a few words of thanks to those who worked so hard to make our October events so successful.
First, a thank you to co-chairs Alex Lemos and Miel Rey for their efforts in putting on our YEP/Student Scholarship Event. We also had a successful MAP/B&I meeting thanks to Johanna Sweaney Salt and Kathy Johnson.
November is a busy month, and we start with the 100th Anniversary Gala at the Mission Inn scheduled for Friday, Nov. 6. At this event, we will acknowledge our 40-year members and name our Community Service and Public Service award winners. CalCPA Chair Andrea Cope, will join us for the festivities. This year’s award recipients are Richard Teaman of Teaman Ramirez & Smith (Distinguished Service) and Paul Sundeen of City of Riverside (Public Service).
Join us Nov. 19 when the Accounting and Auditing committee will host an event featuring Mark Dauberman, who will discuss the SSARS exposure draft and FASB codification. Mark is always an excellent speaker, so don’t forget to sign up for this not-to-be-missed event.
In addition to these events, representatives from our and other chapters will gather Nov. 4 in Los Angeles for the CalCPA Council.
Finally, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful autumn and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
