Meet the Board: Andy Anderson, Secretary
Andy Anderson has a fantastic sense of humor and it doesn’t take long to figure out that you can’t take too much of what he says seriously.
Andy, CFO at Colton-based A-Z Bus Sales, Inc., was born in Salt Lake City “when the entire world was in black and white because color had not been invented,” he says. After graduating from the University of Utah, he moved to Southern California. He lives in Chino Hills with his wife, Marlene, to whom he’s been married for 36 years.
Andy and Marlene have four children. Holly graduated from BYU with a dual major of chemistry and mathematics and taught middle school for 10 years before getting married and having Andy’s only grandchildren, two delightful girls. Bradly is a Cal Poly grad with a mechanical engineering degree and is married to Katie. Emily has certificates in fashion design and cosmetology, as well as a real estate license. “All she needs is to become a chef and then she can house, feed and clothe people,” Andy quips. Wesley attends Fullerton City College and does not yet know what he wants to be when he grows up.
Andy is active in his church, and has volunteered with the Boy Scouts, and the high school Grad Night Committee. In his free time, he likes to work in his yard, read and watch television, especially the History Channel and “Myth Busters.” His family had a birthday clown business to help the kids with their expenses in high school, and Andy still keeps a bag of balloons and a pump at work to entertain kids when they stop by.
Andy says he likes being chapter secretary because it keeps him involved. “I’ve noticed that once you become president, within two years you never come to board meetings!,” he says.
