Thank You

January 26th, 2011

We want to thank those of you who donated blood at our annual Stand Up and Be Counted blood drive. We were able to donate 43 pints of blood this year and are looking to increase the amount next year. Thank you to Ron Hickok at Britz, Inc. and Kyle Stephenson at Baker, Peterson and Franklin for making their facilities available for the Bloodmobile. Not only did we give the gift of life, but we also were able to “bank” the donations, so if any of our members need blood, CalCPA’s account can be accessed. Thank you CPAs for caring!

Scholarship Thanks

January 4th, 2011

I am so honored to have received this scholarship. My best wishes go out to all who contributed and awarded me. I would like to thank you and let you know a little bit about myself. I am a senior at Fresno Pacific University and a member of the track and field team. I also work at a CPA firm where I can continue pursuing my dream of becoming a CPA. I recently had surgery and was unable to walk or work. This scholarship will allow me to continue my studies and pursue my dreams by helping meet my needs. Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your contribution.

Yours truly,

Veronica Pantoja

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing this scholarship. It has truly been a blessing to me this year. Coming into this year I was not sure how I was going to come up with the extra money, but when I was informed that I had received this scholarship, I was honored and very humbled. This scholarship fits so well since I am in the process of completing my degree in accounting and am hoping to pass the CPA Exam within the first 18 months after graduation. I am a junior and have truly enjoyed my experience at Fresno Pacific University thus far. Again, thank you so very much for providing these types of scholarships to help students such as myself to reach their goals and be well prepared for future careers.

Thank you very much,

Aaron Pope

Congrats to YEP of the Year Natalie Siegel!

November 30th, 2010

We recently honored our 40-year members, past presidents, new members and our 2010 Young and Emerging Professional of the Year. The nominating committee had an excellent group of nominees this year to choose from, including Seasha Belton (Torosian and Walter), Kami Benedict (Boos and Associates), Pragati Desai (CSU Fresno), David Olson (Wiebe and Associates) and Natalie Siegel (M. Green & Co.)

Natalie took home the prize and her nomination letter highlighted her volunteer work in the community, with our chapter and her contribution to her firm. The nomination letter stated, “Because of her personal achievements, commitment to her community and profession, contributions to our firm, and the respect she has earned from our staff and clients, we are proud to consider Natalie Siegel as a true example of a Young and Emerging Professional.”

Accounting Senior Looking for Job Related Experience

July 26th, 2010

By Scott Boatwright

I am a senior at the University of Phoenix, majoring in accounting. I am motivated to find any paid/unpaid internship or accounting related job, such as clerk or bookkeeper, that can provide experience. I am available for some traveling and depending on the offer, I could also be available for full-time work. I look forward to responses, as I am a strong worker and would be an asset to any company.

You can contact me at (559) 930-2390 or via e-mail.
