Know Your Board: Jenise Gaskin

Jenise Gaskin is a partner at Burr, Pilger & Mayer LLP that graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Business-Accounting. She’s involved with the Mt. Diablo YMCA, NorCal Volleyball and participates regularly at BPM Community Day.

Gaskin has wanted to be a CPA from the outset, making the decision to follow that career path when she was a junior in high school. Since then, her current job is the best job she has ever had (the worst being working retail at Macy’s during the holiday season).

As far as what it takes to be a good CPA, Gaskin champions “listening to clients and getting back to them in a timely fashion. Client service is very important.”
