The Santa Barbara Young and Emerging Professionals Committee’s first event July 21 was a great success, as more than 50 people attended. The casual mixer was held at the Santa Barbara Brewing Company, where members enjoyed food, drinks, pool and raffle prizes—and made vital contacts with other professionals in the area. Those in attendance included a mix of accountants, attorneys and other finance industry professionals.
The committee would like to thank CalCPA and all the young professionals who helped make our first event a successful one. We look forward to many more in the future.

The committee meets for two days each spring and fall of the year. I am a newcomer to the AEC. In 2009, I attended the May meeting in San Jose and the November meeting in San Diego. The next meeting will be held in April in San Francisco.
